Olares the On-Prem Software - Hardware Solution I was excited about
TLDR: Amazing Software for on-prem but there is an gotcha

it’s really really good. It’s not because it’s a good video 🙂 but because it’s a well built product (software at-least have not tested the hardware).
But…
**But just to share with my members only is by the end of the video I still would say avoid this product even the open source option as It really just locked me down to a particular backend theirs **
That I don’t think this auth system called LarePass https://docs.olares.com/manual/larepass/ can be escaped from so if they go out of business or change pricing or anything It’s a lot to bet o.
It’s amazing. The software is amazing. They did a wonderful job. They deserve all the money they’re charging But in the end if you really want something on-prem that you’re self hosting and not depending on another company I would 100% avoid this.
NOTE: I do have a question in their discord that if they correct me I will update this article
I’m thinking of doing a video using my existing Coolify stack but using older laptop with the proper Nvidia card like they have and just do a comparison setup to this Olares.
I will follow up and ask them more about the above to verify my thoughts.
